GURU ASHTAKAVARGA

How to calculate the Ashtakavarga strength of Guru?

Here we are going to learn the method of calculating the inner strength of Guru by Ashtakavarga. The Readers must understand that the predictions based on Ashtakavarga are more accurate and necessary to know the essence of our life through the Vedic Astrology, The strength of every planet must be calculated using the Binnashtakavarga table to enjoy accurate predictions on the natives life based on Mahadasa, Antardasa and Transit of all Planets. In this Post, let us study the simple methods to calculate the strength of the Guru.

The total count of the Guru in the Ashtavargha table is 56. We have 12 Zodiac signs. If we divide the 56 counts by 12 zodiac signs @ 56/12 = 4 counts in all the 12 zodiac signs and we still have 8 counts left. That is, Guru has to be get minimum of 4 counts for each zodiac sign. The remaining 8 counts will be allocated to 8 different zodiac signs. Thus the Guru will have a minimum of 4 counts in all the 12 zodiac signs and 5 counts in the any of the 8 out of 12 zodiac signs.

                                4 zodiac signs x 4 counts = 16 counts
                                8 zodiac signs x 5 counts = 40 counts
                                                                           -------------
Total strength of Guru   = 56 counts
                                                                           -------------
Even though the strength of Guru are defined under the Binnashtavargha table, the Guru will get variable strength as per the planetary position in your Rasi Chart (Lagna Kundali). The Budhan's count is given in an alphabetical letter "Bu" Green in color.

The Guru gives strength (count)  (to Guru's Ashtakavarga) to 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10 & 11th houses from the 1st house (here it is Taurus @ Taurus should be taken as the first house). The Guru's count is given in an alphabetical letter "Gu" in Dark Maroon color.

Step 7:  Take the position of Venus as the first house. Here the Venus is placed at Libra - Thula Rasi. The Lagna's count is given in an alphabetical letter "La" in Dark Blue color.

Now we make the calculations: Total the counts in each Zodiac Sign. Now we get the results.

Thus the Guru gets strength as per the details given below:

Note: The Guru becomes gets poor strength in Taurus, Virgo, Sagittarius and Capricorn sign in its Ashtakavargha table @ the Guru becomes weaker in its own zodiac house @ Sagittarius sign. Thus it could be a game changer in predicting the results for the Guru Mahadasa/Antardasa/Pratyantaradasa periods as per the Thula Lagna and also for the predictions of Guru transit results as per the Thula Rasi (Moon sign) and Kanni Rasi (Sun sign).
