MUHURTHA ASTROLOGY: AUSPICIOUS TIME

Can we conduct Marriages & auspicious functions in Krishna Paksha?

As per the Hindu Religion, Waxing Moon period (the journey from New Moon to Full Moon @ the period from Amavasya to Poornima) is considered as ascending period; hence this phase is considered as auspicious. 

The Waning Moon period (the journey from Full Moon to New Moon @ the period from Poornima to Amavasya) is considered as descending period; hence this period is considered as inauspicious. 

There is a general belief that the auspicious days (muhurtha day) coming under the Sukla Paksha is more auspicious over the days that comes under the Krishna Paksha. But it is highly incorrect.

Results: Hence it is better to conduct any functions (including marriages) on Muhurtha Days that falls under Divitiya Thithi to Panchami Thithi (Krishna Paksha); and also during Ekadasi Thithi to Chaturdasi Thithi (Sukla Paksha).
It is also recommended to conduct any type of auspicious functions on Muhurtha Days that falls within Shasti Thithi to Dasami Thithi (both Sukla Paksha & Krishna Paksha) which gives moderately benefice results.

WHAT IS KALA SANDHI?

As we know, the word "Sandhi" means the Junction or meeting place. Here the Kala Sandhi denotes the meeting time of two kalams (Periods), @ night and day kalams. The 48 minutes (2 naligai) during both Sunset and Sunrise are called as "Kala Sandhi". The 24 minutes (1 naligai) before the Sunset and Sunrise and 24 minutes (1 naligai) after the Sunset and Sunrise comes under this "Kala Sandhi". WHAT IS NAKSHATRA SANDHI?

As we know the word Sandhi means the Junction or meeting place. Hence the Nakshatra Sandhi means the meeting point of two Nakshatras. There are 27 Nakshatras that are taken into consideration in the Hindu Vedic Astrology. The Moon travels through each Nakshatras starting from Aswini and ending in Revathi. But the movement is a continious basis. Thus after completing the journey through all the 27 stars, the Moon exits the Revathi Nakshatra and again starts its next round of journey from Aswini, without any break. Thus the Moon goes around the 27 Nakshatras on a continous basis. The entry and exit time of the Moon into the 27 Nakshatras varies around 24 hours.
