Rahu Mahadasa Effects

How does the Rahu Mahadasa works?

Rahu Mahadasa
How does Rahu Mahadasa work?
The Rahu does not own any house. Hence, it will deliver the qualities of the house lord, where it is placed during its Rahu Mahadasa period. Let us see it with few examples.

Example 1: If Rahu is placed in the Simha Rasi (Leo Sign) for the Mesha Lagna. Here, the Leo Sign (Simha Rasi) becomes the 5th house for the Mesha Lagna (Aries Rising Sign). Hence, the Rahu will mirror the qualities of the Sun (5th house Lord) during its Mahadasa periods.

Example 2: If the Rahu is placed in the Aquarius (Kumbha Rasi) for the Mesha Lagna. Here, the Aquarius Sign (Kumbha Rasi) becomes the 11th house for the Mesha Lagna (Aries Rising Sign). Hence, the Rahu will mirror the qualities of the Shani (10th & 11th house Lord) during its Mahadasa periods.

Before understanding the functioning of Rahu Mahadasa, let us understand the basic method of analysing the impact of planets during its Mahadasa periods.

  1. If a benefice planet is placed in a benefice house, then the Planet will make the native’s life comfortable during its Mahadasa period.
  2. If a malefic planet is placed in a benefice house, then the Planet, then the native can expect some relief despite facing the difficulties during its Mahadasa periods.
  3. If a benefice planet is placed in a malefic house, then the native may not feel happy about their life during its Mahadasa periods.
  4. If a malefic planet is placed in a malefic house, then the Planet will make the native’s life difficult during its Mahadasa period.

Now, we understand the way that the Rahu Mahadasa works in a native’s life during its Mahadasa periods with few examples.

Example 1: If the Rahu is placed in the 5th house (Simha Rasi/Leo sign) for the Aries Rising (Mesha Lagna), then the Rahu will deliver the qualities of the 5th house Lord Sun during its Mahadasa periods. Here the Sun is fully benefice by owning the benefice 5th House.

Secenario 1: If the Sun is placed in the benefice 9th house (Dhanusu Rasi/Sagittarius), then the native can expecr a better life during its Rahu Mahadasa period. Here the benefice 5th house lord Sun is placed in a benefice 9th house.

Secenario 2: If the Sun is placed in the malefic 8th house (Vrischika Rasi/Scorpio Sign), the the native may experience difficulties in their life during the Rahu Mahadasa periods. Here the benefice 5th house Lord Sun is placed in a malefic place.

———————————————————————————————————————-

Example 2: If the Rahu is placed in the 8th house (Vrischika Rasi/Scorpio sign) for the Aries Rising (Mesha Lagna), then the Rahu will deliver the qualities of Mars, which is both benefice (by owning the Lagna) and the malefic (by owning the malefic 8th House). Here the 8th House Rahu will deliver both the good and the bad qualities of Mars during its Mahadasa periods.

Example 1: If the Mars is placed in the Lagna itself (Mesha Rasi/Aries sign), the native may experience both the happiness and the difficulties equally in their life during the Rahu Mahadasa period. Here the benefice Mars is placed in the benefice house (by staying in the Lagna itself) and deliver happiness to the native. By owning the malefic 8th House and sitting in the benefice Lagna, it will damage the qualities of the Lagna. Thus, the native will face equal amount of difficulties during the Rahu Mahadasa period.

Example 2: If the Mars is placed in the malefic 6th House, then the native may suffer badly during the Rahu Mahadasa periods. Here the benefice Mars (Lagna Lord) is placed in the malefic 6th house and the malefic 8th house lord Mars is placed in the malefic 6th house. Thus, the benefice quality of Mars gets affected and the malefic quality of Mars gets increased by getting in the malefic 6th house (virgo Sign/Kanya Rasi). Thus, the native will face difficulties all along the 18years of Rahu Mahadasa period, when Rahu is placed in the malefic 8th House.

Does the Rahu Mahadasa Period work in two phases? How does it work?

Yes, it is partially correct. That is, the Rahu Mahadasa will deliver two different impacts through 2 equally divided phases during its period. But it is not true always. Now let us see, how does it work? We will find it through simple ways.

Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius are male signs

Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces are female signs.

The Mars becomes stronger in Aries and relatively weaker in Scorpio.

The Venus becomes stronger in Libra and relatively weaker inTaurus.

The Budhan becomes stronger in Virgo and relatively weaker in Gemini

The Guru becomes stronger in Sagittarius and relatively weaker in Pisces

The Shani becomes stronger in Aquarius and relatively weaker in Capricorn

Now let us find out the methodology how the Rahu Mahadasa function?

We know that Rahu reflects the qualities of the House Lord, where it is present. If that House Lord is present in any of the female signs, then it will reflect the qualities of its weaker house during its first phase of Rahu Mahadasa period. If that House Lord is present in any of the male signs, then it will reflect the qualities of its stronger house during its first phase of Rahu Mahadasa.

Example: If the Rahu is placed in the malefic 8th house (Scorpio Sign/Vrischika Rasi) for the Mesha Lagna and Mars is placed in the Lagna itself. Here the Rahu is placed in the male sign. Thus, during the Rahu Mahadasa period, the Rahu will reflect the qualities of Mars (Lagna) during its first phase (9 years) and will reflect the malefic Mars (8th House) during its second phase (9 years). That is, the first phase will be relatively comfortable and the next phase would be little difficult.

If the Rahu is placed in the malefic 8th house (Scorpio/Vrischika Rasi) for the Mesha Lagna and the Mars is placed in its own but malefic 8th House. Here the Rahu is placed in the female sign. Thus, during the Rahu Mahadasa period, the Rahu will reflect the qualities of malefic Mars (8th house) during its first phase (9 years) and reflect the qualities of benefice Mars (Lagna) during its second phase. That is, the first phase would be difficult and the second phase may be less difficult.

Answer to the Question:

  1. If the Rahu is placed on Karka Rasi (Cancer sign) and Simha Rasi (Leo sign), then there will not be 2 phases of Rahu MD period, rather it will be a single phase only. If the House Lord of Rahu (Sun or Moon) owns beneficial house lordship and placed in beneficial house, then the entire 18 years of Rahu MD period will be good. Suppose, If the House Lord of Rahu (Sun or Moon) owns malefic house lordship and placed in the malefic house, then the entire 18 years of Rahu MD will be difficult.
  2. If the Rahu is placed in any male house, then it will deliver the qualities of the stronger zodiac sign of the House Lord of Rahu in the first 9 years of its Dasa periods.
  3. If the Rahu is placed in any female house, then it will deliver the qualities of the weaker zodiac sign of the House Lord of Rahu in the first 9 years of its Dasa Periods.
  4. There is no compulsion (or) a formula that exists to say that second phase would be bad, if the first phase is good (or) vice versa (refer Point 2 & 3). Both the phases can be good (or) both the phases can be bad too.
  5. The Rahu Mahadasa will work on the above methodology only to certain extent. That is, the prediction about the Rahu Mahadasa period would be partial by using this method for the analysis.
  6. The Prediction about the impact of Rahu in various Divisional Chrats must be done to access the correct prediction about the Rahu Mahadasa .
  7. Hence, the Rahu Mahadasa period will not deliver the similar results for all the natives in the World. Everyone will have an unique experience in their life during the Rahu MD period. Predicting about the Rahu & the Ketu period will not be easy. Only experienced Astrologers could be able to do it correctly.

WHAT IS NAKSHATRA SANDHI?

As we know the word Sandhi means the Junction or meeting place. Hence the Nakshatra Sandhi means the meeting point of two Nakshatras. There are 27 Nakshatras that are taken into consideration in the Hindu Vedic Astrology. The Moon travels through each Nakshatras starting from Aswini and ending in Revathi. But the movement is a continious basis. Thus after completing the journey through all the 27 stars, the Moon exits the Revathi Nakshatra and again starts its next round of journey from Aswini, without any break. Thus the Moon goes around the 27 Nakshatras on a continous basis. The entry and exit time of the Moon into the 27 Nakshatras varies around 24 hours. The Last 48 minutes or 2 Naligai (Naligai is a measure of time that equals 24 minutes) during the entry and exit into a Nakshatra by the Moon is called as "Nakshatra Sandhi". This Nakshatra Sandhi period is highly inauspicious time. Example: Suppose the Moon is exiting the Hastham Nakshatra at 8.59 am and enters ...
